I’m Varun R Mallya, a final year undergrad student at IIT Roorkee. I work on a variety of things, but you’ll usually find me messing around with BPF in the Linux Kernel.

I am an original author of PythonBPF and am currently pursuing research on new things we can use eBPF for, with Prof. Marios Kogias at Imperial College London.

I have recently been trying to get into MoveVM related vuln research as well as FPGAs and computer architecture.

I do a lot of hobby embedded electronics and have modded cheap keyboard firmware, dumped and exploited router firmware and such and such. Basically, I’ve always liked being close to the hardware and have been making hobby electronics since I was little.

Also, I am soon going to finish my 4 year batchelors degree, so I’m looking for opportunities in both industry and research (especially a PhD. or even a pre-doc)!

I contributed to sysprof as part of my GSoC project. I have also contributed to Libp2p and was a part of the Protocol Labs Dev guild for two continuous cohorts. I’ve won various hackathons spanning web3, security, AI and so on. You can find my work on GitHub and GNOME’s GitLab.
